Being church can happen anywhere, up a mountain, on a street corner in a hospital or on a beach. Being church means experiencing and sharing God together. I would think that the virtual plane is just as good a place to explore and share who, what, where, how and when He is.
The ultimate expression of being church should be in the Euchrist, but sadly it sometimes has just become something we do on a Sunday, too ritualised and formalised to have much meaning.
Junior, although I agree with you - How do we "share God" we don't talk about Him, we don't talk about what He is doing in our lives, or maybe doing in our lives. We don't share the awesomeness of God or the glory of his grace. I don't think that we share the brightness of his love for us let alone the darkness of his love. Scog has posted a thing on Advent - do we share in this waiting together? or just moan about the waiting. If you continue Scog's analagy why are we not eagerly waiting for a new priest/lay person who will come and offer support and encouragement? If the the three of us can't talk about it how can we possibly encourage talking about it on a sunday or at any other time? Sorry - lots of questions no answers
I agree we don't share God to any great degree at the moment. Not just us but the entire church.
so maybe this blog is the start of sharing Him.
Give an example of what he has done. Have you seen Him today? or did you even look for Him? I'll admit I haven't done a deal of looking today. I agree we do need to talk about God and share God more, but no-one can take the hump and be annoyed at anything said in cyberspace.
As for the waiting, I think we have started to acknowledge just how tired we are of waiting for the priest/missioner to come, but we never say we are tired of waiting for Jesus to come. I know you and I are opposites - half empty, half full - and I know this is no help to you but we can't do anything else but trust that God knows what he is doing, a test of faith if you like. And we should get together and celebrate Him more.
I think I have just rambled a bit but I'm not very elequent. (or a good speller)
